Creating our new home

Caroline & Anthony.

Without any previous building experience, Caroline and Anthony decided to buy an old doctor’s clinic, that they are renovating themselves.

It was love at first sight when Caroline and Anthony saw the house and took their first steps into the hall: “We pulled up in front of it and just looked at each other – we both knew it at that time; this was it! Then we walked into the house, saw the big hall, and basically just asked where to sign.”

But even though the house felt like home already, a comprehensive renovation lied ahead as soon as they got the keys. It was time for a new beginning in a new house that could embrace
their dreams and creativity.

“We have a golden rule: never have two different colours next to each other on the wall – only black or white next to the chosen colour applies.”

“The products add this special feeling of home to the house.”

But it’s not all about renovation projects. When it comes to decorating the house, details and feelings are essential. “Society of Lifestyle’s products add this feeling of home to the house. Most of the things we own from them really add something more to the room. For us, it’s all in the details.”

The biggest project in the house has been the kitchen. It wasn’t until after they had knocked down the old one they discovered that delivery time was longer than expected. “We ended up living eight months without a kitchen. Not super romantic, but the result is so lovely.”

A warm and welcoming atmosphere

With inspiration from hotels around the world, the couple tries to make every room warm and welcoming in earthy tones. That’s why they always begin decorating a new room by choosing the colour of the walls: “Paint really makes such a big difference, and we love to play with contrasts.”
