A home made for living at @kiefers_klub

Vintage finds, original details and the traces of everyday family life define Louise and Bo’s home in Brabrand, just outside Aarhus. Here, practical comes before perfect, and new pieces are given room to live alongside things collected over time.

Practical before perfect

Louise and Bo live here with their two children and their dog, in a house where family life is always visible. Drawings decorate the walls, DIY projects take over the dining table, and cables are allowed to remain visible.

Nothing is hidden simply to make the home look more finished.

Designed in the 1970s, the house has been carefully brought back to its original character, including the flat roof, which Louise and Bo restored after previous owners had changed it to a pitched roof.

"With children, a dog and a busy everyday life, there is no point in creating rooms that are too precious to use. We want our home to work for the way we actually live."

A personal mix

Together, Louise and Bo run @kiefers_klub, where they find, restore and resell vintage furniture.

Their own home reflects the same appreciation for pieces with a history. Vintage furniture sits alongside newer designs, while objects from different periods and materials are allowed to share the same space.

There is no need for everything to match. What matters is how it feels together.

Louise & Bo's favourites

Chosen with the same instinct as their vintage finds, these House Doctor pieces have found a natural place throughout the home. Each one adds character, texture or contrast while allowing the existing furniture and objects to remain at the centre.

Where old and new meet

The newer pieces from House Doctor bring new forms and materials into the home, while allowing the existing furniture and objects to remain at the centre. The result is a considered mix where old and new sit naturally together.

"I like when new things don't look too new in a room. They should feel like they belong among what you already have," Louise says.

Nothing in the home feels overly styled. Instead, it feels collected, lived in and personal. Here, there is room for life to happen.
